McKenna Dorman (Snoqualmie Indian Tribe) is the Program Coordinator in the American Indian Studies Department at the University of Washington in Seattle. Dorman has been an active participant in her tribe her entire life where she was surrounded by spiritual teachers, elders and tribal leaders who passed down teachings, culture and language. In her previous work and personal life, Dorman's work included the design and development of Snoqualmie Tribe-specific K-12 educational materials for usage in eleven WA state public school districts; directing and producing the film "Sacred Connections"; serving as tribal spokesperson during the filming of the documentary, "Spawning Grounds"; working on the on the protection of cultural resources, preservation of sacred sites including sacred Snoqualmie Falls; land reclamation; documenting Snoqualmie culture and history with tribal elders; and Lushootseed language revitalization.
